Choreography

Hailey loves teaching, creating, and exploring choreography in her training and in the professional world. Following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother she began assisting dance classes at just 10 years old, and began teaching shortly after.

During her time at Point Park University, she studied choreography composition under Jesse Factor, Marc Spaulding, and Jason McDole, and trained in several styles of dance with a concentration in Jazz (see resume for more).

Hailey has created works for theatrical, concert, and competitive dance stages. She choreographed the first MTI productions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Alice by Heart, with ABH being selected to perform at Illinois High School Theater Festival by Chicago. artisans. She created her original concert dance piece Requiem last fall (one of her proudest achievements), and choreographed the opening to her senior jazz showcase Hot Hot Hot upon graduation. Growing up a competition dancer, she rekindled her passion for creating competitive pieces and debuted some award winning numbers last season.

She also has a deep passion for teaching, as growing up a studio rat taught her, and spent a summer touring with Missoula Children’s Theatre, where she brought the art of theatre to kids around the country. When Hailey is not performing, she loves teaching all dance styles to young artists across the country, aiming to bring out the best in every student by keeping a high-energy, passionate, and challenging learning environment.

Requiem

(Senior Thesis")

‘Requiem’, derived from the Roman Catholic Mass for the Dead, simply meaning an “act of remembrance.”

A piece where Dementia is personified, and our main character (who is battling the disease) is surrounded by loved ones she can’t face and memories she can’t name, inevitably choses to go her own way.
